ABOUT ME

My name is Hannah Laman. I grew up in Loveland, OH, which is a suburb about 30 minutes north of Cincinnati! I am a third year student here currently studying Computer Science with a minor in Spanish as well as pursuing my M.B.A!

MY BACKGROUND

I am from Loveland, OH, a suburb of Cincinnati. I loved living there, because it was a small-town feel but only a short drive away from the city. I grew up with a twin brother (he also goes to UC!), and plenty of pets. Currently, my golden retriever named Alfie resides in Loveland with my parents, and I miss him dearly. In high school, I was in band, student council president, math team, and I loved to read, hammock, and play video games!

Through not only UHP but UC as a whole, I would love to help myself become a well-rounded individual with a multitude of different activities. I would love to get involved in diverse groups in order to gain new perspectives!

MY PASSION

In 2011, when I was only 8 years old, my brother and I co-founded a 501c3 nonprofit organization named Adopt A Book. Our mission is to encourage a love of reading and increase access to books. To date, we have donated over 250,000 books to over 300 organizations, schools, and programs serving children in need. To the left is an image of my twin, Alex, and I in Adopt A Book's first year.

MY VALUES

I am a very family-oriented person, so one of my largest values is community. I find it very important to be close to those around you, and I also think that generosity to those around you is essential. My parents have always raised me to put others before myself, and to always put myself in someone else's shoes. Adopt A Book has helped me realize how lucky I am to live the life that I do, and I find it extremely beneficial to take some time to help those around you, no matter how small the act is.
